CELEBRATING OUR HUMAN FOOTPRINT:
A BUILDING LIKE A TREE – A CITY LIKE A FOREST
The Cradle to Cradle® concept was presented by EPEA and Michael Braungart on the occasion of the 15th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice 2016, curated by Alejandro Aravena and titled “Reporting from the front”.
Two buildings were positioned in opposition to each other defining the “battlefield” of the dialogue between the conventional architecture and the possibilities of buildings implemented according to the Cradle to Cradle concept. An olive tree, gold, earth, and wooden path markings symbolize the new direction of architecture and were contrasting with an aluminum facade and garden dwarves. This was accompanied by protest signs and explanatory graphics.
