A\u00a0light installation consisting of many colorfully illuminated bars\u00a0was\u00a0created\u00a0as an artistic intervention on the forecourt of the Cultural and Educational Center with Mosque near St. Jost in Marburg.
\nThe\u00a0bars are set in 5 groups and symbolize the idea of \u200b\u200bthe 5 pillars of Islam. The outline of the 5 pillars is thematically recorded and transformed into a vertical “spiritual” line formation, the spiritual\u00a0nature of the installation\u00a0is emphasized by the immaterial character of the entire sculpture.
\nThe\u00a0clear shape\u00a0of the columns is resolved by the free arrangement of the bars, merging\u00a0the five columns into an overall structure\u00a0when seen from the side or walked through.
\nThis effect is intensified by the color mixture of the light, since white is considered in Islam as\u00a0a symbol of\u00a0unity and\u00a0the\u00a0sum of all colors. Thus, all the colors of the color sphere are represented in the installation and describe\u00a0in their sum\u00a0the totality of the divine\u00a0as well as\u00a0the diversity of religion and the openness of the institution\u00a0itself.<\/p>\n
