APARTMENT A
An apartment in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg was adapted according to the needs of a family: the kitchen, previously located in the so-called “Berliner Zimmer”, is moved into the central dining room and offers now an additional children’s room. The walls are just plastered, only the leftover of a yellow primer is taken as a coloring element.
The existing storage spaces and the old bathroom were transformed into a new furniture element with an abundance of storage closets on the corridor’s side as well as two small bathrooms and a walk-in wardrobe. While the closet doors reflect the colors of the apartment, a new little world can be found by entering the two bath rooms, one in rose and one in grey-blue. The fittings and objects of the bathrooms contrast with the the existing cast-iron bathtub and the minimal light sources, creating an atmospheric combination of old and new.
