APARTMENT H

A Wilhelminian-style unit in Berlin-Charlottenburg has been converted into work and living space.

The existing substance with original windows, doors, parquet flooring, wooden wall cladding and stucco ceilings has been carefully refurbished and new elements have been added:

Two bathrooms including storage space are built in the existing spaces – clearly legible as a room-in-room volume. The so-called „Berliner Zimmer“ is now the new centre of the unit as a kitchen-living room.

Walls and ceilings are painted with chalk colors in shades of red and green, which are echoed in the new furniture, in the veneered and lacquered ash surfaces. The green stone table tops are combined with bright ash surfaces contrasting to the old oak parquet flooring. By opening the door to the new bathrooms, a world of its own opens up with black fittings and colored lime plastered walls. Selected lights, curtains and pieces of furniture owned by the family complement the rooms to create an individual, pleasant ensemble for your stay in Berlin.
